TubeWiz and your privacy
At TubeWiz we're not at all happy about people stealing our privacy, or our personal details.
We think you probably share our views on this, so here are our statements on data privacy:
Our general company privacy principles
- We ask for only the minimum information we need to serve you properly.
- We only use your information for the purposes you gave it to us.
- We do our best to keep your information safe whilst it is inside our organisation,
and we make it as difficult as we can for others to obtain it illegally.
- We will not give out any information that identifies you to third parties (or sell it,
or whatever) without your specific permission.
Specific matters concerning payment data
- Your personal details, such as credit card and billing information
are sent directly to our payment partner, HSBC, who receive the
payment on our behalf.
- We neither see nor retain your card data. Obviously we need to store some information, so that we
know who's paid us, but this infomation is kept to the barest minimum and stored securely (see above).
Specific matters concerning support data
- If certain technical problems arise, our software is designed to
collect data about the fault and return it to our central server.
- This data is used by us to detect and fix problems with our software (should they arise),
and for no other purpose.
- Should such a situation arise, you will be given the option to prevent
any information being sent to us (although obviously we'd prefer it if
you let us receive it!).
Specific matters concerning day-to-day use of our software
- We make and sell software tools. Your use of these tools, and videos you make with them,
are ultimately your legal and moral responsibility, not ours.
- Privacy issues relating to any videos you upload are ultimately your responsibility too.
Our software may store (cache) upload settings as a convenience for you, but you must make
sure the correct permissions or visibility settings are used for each video you upload or publish elsewhere.
- Our software can store locally (cache), on your computer, your identification and passwords
for video services such as YouTube. This information is never transmitted to us.
We use the standard encryption tools provided by Microsoft, commonly used for other
passwords "remembered" on your computer, such as by your web browser.
If you think our approach may not be secure enough for your needs, please do not use this facility!
About our use of the Thawte logo...
The Thawte logo indicates that your data is secure on this site. Click
on it for details of our SSL certificate, which is used to encrypt any private
information you exchange with us.
One final note: We believe privacy is important, but so is public safety and legality. Accordingly, if we are ever
asked to assist legitimate police authorities in matters concerning the use of our software, we may do so, and to the
very best of our abilities. No legal agreements we make with our customers should be taken to mean that we would not do this.
